The DOT

The Dot was a very fun and intriguing project. There were no guidelines or rules that had to be followed in making this. The inspiration behind creating these "dots" is the story "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. This books tells the story of the main character who thought they had not artistic talent, but found out that the could create dots and finds her creative and artistic talent. Since this project was left open ended for students to do whatever they would like ever dot was different and unique which made a very cool overall look.

Expansion Activity: I would have students create their own dot and when they were all done we would put them together to form a huge dot. The representation behind this would be to showcase that even though we are all out own person with different hobbies, interests, likes, dislikes; that we are able to come together and be a team. Doing this on a large scale throughout the school would be a great idea also.
