  The Dot was a very fun and intriguing project. There were no guidelines or rules that had to be followed in making this. The inspiration behind creating these "dots" is the story "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. This books tells the story of the main character who thought they had not artistic talent, but found out that the could create dots and finds her creative and artistic talent. Since this project was left open ended for students to do whatever they would like ever dot was different and unique which made a very cool overall look. Expansion Activity: I would have students create their own dot and when they were all done we would put them together to form a huge dot. The representation behind this would be to showcase that even though we are all out own person with different hobbies, interests, likes, dislikes; that we are able to come together and be a team. Doing this on a large scale throughout the school would be a great idea also. 

  Contrast: The differences in values, colors, textures, shapes, and more elements. Contrast is widely used to create visual excitement and add interest to different things.    This picture represents contrast because the bright red car stands out compared to the other car behind it, and all of the darker cooler tones in the background of the image.  Space: Three dimensional, volume can be empty or filled, has width, height, and length, and has a feeling of depth This image shows space because you are able to see the depth going up the ramp with the width, height, and length of it.  Movement: Used to direct viewers through their work. Can be directed along lines, edges, shapes, and colors. This image shows movement with the position of the child's feet (both) and the the blurriness of the child running.  Emphasis: Used to create dominance and focus in the art they are working on. Can be done with any element (such as color, size, shape, etc.). Various contrast are used to emphasize
